TEAM CHRIS has been an incredible support to our school! They have provided food, clothing, snacks, drinks, grocery gift cards and gifts – such as basketballs, footballs, and headphones for our students. Our students were so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support for them!

Knowing our students have access to food for lunch and during their weekends and holiday breaks is a relief. It is very difficult for students to focus on learning when they are hungry. Children shouldn’t have to worry about getting their basic needs met and TEAM CHRIS went above and beyond to meet the needs of our students.

Most of our students come from low-income families, and we don’t have a PTA to help support our students’ needs. Some of our students are homeless, in foster care or in single parent households. The knowledge that someone who doesn’t personally know them cared enough to provide food, clothing and gifts really made an impact on my students.

I cannot thank Suzanne and TEAM CHRIS enough for caring for our students and showing them that there are people in the world who care about them. Working with Suzanne and TEAM CHRIS has been a wonderful experience. She understands the needs of our students and chooses items that are important to the students. I cannot thank you enough!

With much appreciation,
Lori

Since 2011, the Northern Wake Fire Department has been involved with an amazing family who turned a tragedy into a lasting and loving memory to their son.

After Suzanne & Mike Groom’s son Chris was killed in a car crash, the Groom family has dedicated themselves to honoring his memory by helping countless kids and families in the central North Carolina area. The Groom family raises money all year long, and during the Christmas season, spends every donated dime on toys, clothes, food, school supplies and other necessities for underprivileged kids and families.

We are honored, humbled and proud to be a small part of the beautiful way to remember Chris, a son and brother whose life continues to bring joy to so many.

I am the office receptionist at Baileywick Elementary School. I have worked with Team Chris for several years and they are nothing short of amazing!

Team Chris fills our clothing closet every year for our kiddos who need a change of clothes during the day. If I am in need of anything throughout the school year for the closet or a specific student, I know I can count on Team Chris to make it happen! They have provided many families of ours with winter jackets, clothes and even food.

I can’t thank them enough for what they do for our school community. I look forward to seeing Suzanne each year!

Thank you TEAM CHRIS!
